DANE COUNTY FAIR BOARD ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Dane County Fair Board of Directors announced two new board members at their meeting held January 23 in Madison. Dean Hermsdorf, Cottage Grove, has joined as a Director-at-Large board member. Dean is a former Dane County 4-H exhibitor, a 4-H parent and is employed at ABS Global. Sara Griswold, Black Earth, was named the new 4-H Youth Representative on the board. Sarah is a member of the Cross Plains Wondermakers and a youth exhibitor at the Dane County Fair in multiple projects. The two new board members officially join the board at the May 14 Annual Meeting, in advance of the 2012 Fair.
Fair board leadership also includes Darwin Lynde, Director-at-Large; Pam Jahnke-Welch, Director-at-Large; Romaine Ace, Director-at-Large; Mary Elvekrog, Director-at-Large; Nolan Anderson, Dane County Extension Agent; Mark Boyke, Director-at-Large; Vicki Buening, Director-at-Large; Mark Clarke, General Manager; Nick Brattlie, Dane County Ag Teachers; Tom Breunig, Director-at-Large; Brenda James, Director-at-Large; Gerald Jensen, Dane County Board of Supervisors; Diane Rake, 4-H Leaders Association; Dennis Schlimgen, 4-H Leaders Association and Don Warren, 4-H Leaders Association.
The Dane County Fair is a family tradition that has been in existence for 161 years. Thousands of youth projects are exhibited by hundreds of local 4-H, FFA and club members who gain lifelong skills and knowledge. The Fair brings the fun of a carnival, animals of all shapes and sizes and tasty treats to one five-day, fun-packed event.
